United Cable Industries Company is moving towards Green Energy

An agreement of solar energy project was recently signed at Amman Chamber of Industry between the United Cable Industries Company and Philadelphia Solar for the installation of the largest (rooftop) solar power system in Jordan and the Middle East with a capacity of 4.5 MW to cover the factory consumption of electrical energy.

This came through UCIC firm belief in emphasizing the complementarity and interdependence among the national factories in terms of using national industrial products between each others instead of importing these inputs from abroad.

Under the signed agreement, Philadelphia Solar will design the system where the proportion of Jordanian components is more than 70% starting from all kinds of cables (AC / DC) produced by United Cable Industries Company and ending with metal structures and high-efficiency solar panels of Philadelphia Solar production.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of Amman Chamber of Industry HE Senator Ziad Al-Homsi and the Board of Directors member Mr. Ahmed Al-Khudari and the Director General Dr. Nael Al-Housami and the General Manager of United Cable Industries Company Mr. Yousef Hijazi and the President of Philadelphia Solar Mr. Abdul Rahman Shehada and the General Manager of TUV / UCIC Consultant Eng. Mohammad Al-Najjar and other officials.
